My Story - Julie Ann White - Founder of Pussy Galore

Updated: Sep 28, 2023

Knowing the face behind a wellness business is so important. When you start working on unresolved trauma and making positive changes in your life, having a guiding light can make all the difference. And that's exactly who I am – Julie Ann White, the face behind Pussy Galore, your partner in this journey to a better version of yourself.

Life has a beautiful yet challenging way of shaping us. The twists and turns, the moments of darkness, and the bursts of light – all of these have led me to where I am today. As a firm believer in the healing power that lies within each of us, I embarked on a mission to create a wellness path that not only enhances your well-being but also comes from a place of understanding and empathy. Because I've been there.

My own path of healing and growth compelled me to establish Pussy Galore – a wellness business that's all about embracing the various facets of ourselves.

Through my own ups and downs, I've come to realise the significance of self-care, the power of reclaiming our narrative, and the profound impact of having a support system. And that's precisely what I envision Pussy Galore becoming for you: a source of comfort, inspiration, and a reminder that you're not alone on this journey.

Join me as we walk hand in hand towards healing, self-discovery, and a life filled with positivity and purpose. Together, let's nurture the incredible being that you are – because you absolutely deserve it.

Sharing my story is so important to me – the twists, turns, and unexpected moments that led me to where I am today. I’ve recorded a full podcast episode which covers everything and can be found here. In the meantime though, here’s a quick read summary. Buckle up, because it's been a wild ride!

In my past life, it was all about the party scene with my partner. Weekends were the only time we saw each other, and we’d dive into a world of parties. It was like a never-ending rave. I didn’t see it as a problem then, but everything changed when I found out I was pregnant. Suddenly, my perspective shifted. I didn't want that life for my baby girl or me.

During my pregnancy and my daughter's early years, my partner's habits continued – cannabis, cocaine, ecstasy, you name it. Meanwhile, I was struggling financially. My wages fueled his addiction, and I couldn't even afford simple things like underwear. My life felt like a blur of unhappiness and struggle.

A tragic event, the death of my cousin, opened my eyes. It hit me that life had so much more to offer than the misery I was living. I was just a shell of myself, and I barely remembered my daughter's first two years. Something had to change.

I took a leap, leaving behind that toxic life and pushing for a better future for my daughter and myself. I moved to a nice area, in a big house, and suddenly had financial freedom. But it wasn't all smooth sailing. Health issues, including osteoarthritis, were hurdles I faced. Yet, every time life knocked me down, my daughter's future and my own determination propelled me forward.

I therefore turned to learning in a bid to better myself, diving into studies while managing day nurseries. Against all odds, I transformed an inadequate nursery into something special, and it got nominated for a national award. I was unstoppable, despite my own disability and chronic pain. That's when the seeds of entrepreneurship were planted in me.

My desire for a better life for me and my daughter were the fuel. I ventured into entrepreneurship, fueled by the belief that I could achieve more than I ever thought possible. The journey wasn't easy, and the bumps were real, but every leap of faith seemed to have a safety net that caught me.

(Me at my worst in 2019)

The turning point came when I started my journey to heal my daughter's painful periods. Little did I know, this would lead to a complete transformation. I tapped into ancient wisdom, energy work, and a deep connection with my own body. It was a reclamation of my power.

Out of this journey, Pussy Galore was born. Yeah, I know, the name might raise eyebrows, but it's about breaking taboos and giving women the tools to reconnect with themselves. We've been taught to be ashamed of our bodies, to ignore them, and I decided that needed to change.

So, I started helping women embrace their bodies, especially their pelvic bowls. It's not just about physical health; it's about reclaiming our sovereignty, our energy, and our creativity. I guide women through the holistic pelvic care journey, which starts with energy work and belief coding to clear traumas. Then comes the beautiful process of tapping into the spiritual realm.

I've been there – I've felt lost and disconnected. I've struggled with my own traumas, PTSD, anxiety, 2 hip replacements and even lived through the aftermath of the Manchester terror attack. But from those dark moments, I've emerged stronger and more determined. My daughter's epilepsy, my own health issues, and depression have shaped me. These layers are part of my story, and they're stories I want to share.

So, what's the takeaway? Embrace yourself, your flaws, your history – everything that makes you, you. Don't be afraid to find your voice, set boundaries, and put yourself first. Trust me, it's not selfish; it's self-care. Start with looking at yourself in the mirror, massage yourself with love, and rewrite the negative scripts that have held you back.

Life is too short to dim your light. It's time to shine, to step into your power, and to unleash your potential. Whether it's entrepreneurship or healing, the journey is unique to you, and you have the strength to make it remarkable. Remember, you are sensational, and your story deserves to be shared.

(Me now, absolutely sensational)

Julie
